Ohio Fire Code Training Modules - Update from State Fire Marshal's Office

Dear Fire Service Members:

I am contacting you to inform you that the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of State Fire Marshal (SFM) has recently completed training modules highlighting significant changes from the 2007 version to the 2011 version of the Ohio Fire Code (OFC).  These modules have been in development for some time, and are now being published for two reasons:

  1. to provide continuing education (CE) opportunities for you, and
  2. to get feedback from you regarding their format and content, so we can create an even better product for you in the future when we publish training modules after the completion of the 2017 OFC update.

You can access the modules via links on the SFM’s website (www.com.ohio.gov/fire) under the “2011 Ohio Fire Code Training Modules” tab.  There you will find links to the International Code Council’s Campus (ICC) (where the modules are housed), a tutorial regarding how to create an account with the ICC and access the 2011 Ohio Fire Code Training Modules, and how to receive a certificate for completing the courses.  There is also a technical support phone number for the ICC, and contact information for the SFM where you can provide feedback regarding the modules.

Thank you for your participation in and feedback regarding the modules.  I hope you find them very useful.

Sincerely,

Larry L. Flowers
State Fire Marshal
