Oregon Fire/Rescue Department, Lucas County, Ohio is accepting applications for the position of Battalion Chief of Training in the Fire Department. Oregon Fire/Rescue Department is a combination fire department with 3 Operational Battalion Chiefs, 3 Lieutenants, 30 full-time Firefighter Paramedic/EMT-Basic and 30 part-time members operating from 3 fire stations and 1 training center. The department provides fire and EMS services (4000 incidents per year) to a population of nearly 20,000 residents. The City of Oregon encompasses a total area of 38.04 square miles, of which 29.98 square miles is land and 8.06 square miles is water bordering Lake Erie.
Battalion Chief of Training reports directly to the Fire Chief as an unclassified position and is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to planning, directing, and evaluating the training of all firefighters and paramedics. May occasionally fill in as Acting Shift Battalion Chief from time to time.
Applicants must possess the following Ohio certifications: EMT-Paramedic, Firefighter II; Fire Instructor; Live Fire Instructor; EMS Instructor preferred (CE Instructor required within one year); minimum five (5) years of career firefighter/paramedic experience with work history as a line supervisor preferred, and valid driver’s license.

Pay range: $104,834.60 - $114,952.76 per year – 5 steps.
