Under the administrative direction of the Board of Township Trustees and the Township Administrator, the Fire Chief oversees and manages the operations of the Township Fire Department. Olmsted Township seeks a candidate with robust management skills and executive-level leadership qualities. Responsibilities include, among others: Planning, directing, and supervising the Township’s Fire Department operations; Setting departmental policy for fire prevention and fire suppression; Developing, and managing long and short-term goals for Department; Responding to and assuming command of fire scenes and emergency response situations; Developing, planning and administering the Department budget; Conducting studies, surveys and other research projects; Revising Departmental policies to improve operations; Submitting reports and recommendations to Trustees and Township Administrator; Researching and planning with Fiscal Office large capital equipment purchases; Directing and supervising daily activities of all subordinate division personnel; Training and developing personnel; Public relations for Department on behalf of the Township
